Which cryptocurrencies can I donate?

Extra Life accepts many leading cryptocurrencies through The Giving Block, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and dozens more.

How do I donate crypto?

Click “Donate” on any Extra Life fundraiser hosted on Tiltify, choose your donation amount, and on the Payment Details page select “Crypto” as your payment type. You’ll be redirected to The Giving Block to securely complete your donation.

Is donating crypto secure?

Yes. The Giving Block uses trusted infrastructure and dynamic wallet addresses to protect every transaction.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes. If you provide your email during the donation process, The Giving Block will send you an electronic tax receipt once your transaction is confirmed.

Can I donate anonymously?

Absolutely. You can choose to remain anonymous or include your name so it appears on the fundraiser page.

Can I get a refund?

Crypto donations are final once confirmed on the blockchain, so please double-check all details before sending.

What happens to the crypto I donate?

In most cases, The Giving Block converts donated crypto to U.S. dollars right away so hospitals can put your gift to work helping kids faster.

How is my gift credited to the fundraiser?

Your donation will automatically appear in the fundraiser’s total on Tiltify and count toward the participant’s Extra Life goal.

What if the cryptocurrency I hold isn’t listed?

You can convert it to a supported token in your wallet before donating, or reach out to The Giving Block to ask if it can be added.

Are there tax benefits to donating crypto?

In the U.S., crypto is treated as property. Donating appreciated cryptocurrency may allow you to avoid capital gains taxes and claim a charitable deduction for the fair market value. Always check with a qualified tax professional.

Does this count toward Extra Life incentives or badges?

Yes! Crypto donations are treated like any other gift and count toward fundraising totals, incentives, and recognition.
